floor at the university of california, san francisco. uscf is one of the preprostrate cancer treatment centers in america. the governor released a statement today saying fortunately, this is early stage, localized prostate cancer. the key is early diagnosis. >> if men who need treatment aren't detected early, they're less likely, far less likely to be cured. >> reporter: a prostate cancer surviver himself, dr. shoeman says patients have options, ranging from monitoring the tumor's growth, to radiation treatment like the governor, to removing the prostate. patients need to work closely with their oncologist. >> they're best equipped to make the recommendations on what to do. and whether or not they should get treatment. >> reporter: tony gosset is also a prostate cancer surviver. he and his doctors offered for a prostatectomy. as for the governor, he and his staff will continue to undergo a full schedule into the first week in january. >>> more details now. doctors say as many as 241,000 men in the united states will be diagnosewide prostate cancer this year. northern 90% of those case

outside where we have been dealing rain out there. here is the live camera looking toward san francisco. a few breaks in the clouds but those rain source moving through rapidly across the bay area. still the case right now. here we go with the maps showing you the live sweeps. you can seat enhancement in parts of the north bay. rainfall picking up south of nevado, those darker shades of green. even the yellows indicate the increase in rainfall rates. we will shift the maps, slow you more activity around the bay, not as much here but down toward pillar point for half moon bay and around the fremont area and parts of the east bay. this activity knocking on the doorsteps of livermore. wet pave helicopter on interstate 580. most of the activity in the south bay with the rainfall rates picking up for this part of the bay area. out toward saratoga. you can see the rainfall rate over an inch an hour. that's the estimate with the radar and the closer inspection toward saratoga. around campbell. around loss g atos. that's heavy rain out toward 17 as you can pick out here and we will continue to

. napa35, san francisco 46, san jose 37 degrees. definitely off to a cold start this saturday morning. forecast headlines for today, shower developing, it'll be chilly. tomorrow just a chance of a few sprinkles and the highest chance would be in the north bay, especially up toward sonoma. we are tracking multiple storms on the long range weather maps. at least for today here is the system we are tracking, the sources rainfall around eureka. already cloud cover into the area and that rainfall not to far behind. here is the forecast model. we will take it into the morning about an hour from now at eight mostly cloudy and cool. temperatures from around 30 to 45 and then by the afternoon, by 12:00 showers developing especially up in the northern half of the area. you will see more activity off shore and then throughout the afternoon hours off and on showers likely and temperatures only making it into the low to mid50s. these numbers not a big change from yesterday in places like fairfield and antioch. most of the afternoon in the upper 40s. briefly topping out at 50. san jose 54, san mate

the morning commute is looking good in san francisco off to a nice start approaching the downtown area. it's 5:00 let's go back to dave and pam. >>> at 5:00 we have breaking news coming in from campbell. firefighters just found a body as they rushed to an apartment house fire. janine de la vega is there. she's been there since 4:30 this morning. what is the very latest? >> reporter: the coroner is still here actually in the back of the apartment complex here on kiness drive. fire investigate evers are here on the scene trying to figure out how this fire started and who was the person who died here. at around 1:15 this morning residents at this apartment complex called 911 because they saw smoke coming from the carport at the complex. when they arrived firefighters discovered a storage unit under the carport was on fire. they distinguished it and opened up and found a body. police spoke to the owner of that storage unit and here's what the sergeant had to say. >> we have talked to the person who's belongings are in the storage unit. they are unaware of anything suspicious. they are unaware of a
